Signs You Have A Leaky or Damaged Pipe

A Leaky Sewer Drain or a Dripping Water Pipe are not always the easiest things to see.  They are often located inside Walls, under Cement Floors, or in areas that are not easily accessed.  Other Pipes are located in areas that are not frequented by You everyday such as Attics, Basements, Garages, and Crawl Spaces.  Although some Pipes can bust suddenly usually from Damage or Frozen Pipes, most Pipes and Drains sprink leaks and drips more gradually over time.  Some signs of a Sewer Drain problem are usually a Slow Drain, Back Up of Sewer Waste, or Bad Odors from Pipes.  Signs you may have a damaged or leaking Water Pipe would be water spots on ceilings, walls, and floors, decrease in water pressure, increase in water bill, mold growing on Drywall, and the smell of mustiness.  As with most plumbing fixes, there are temporary fixes but Sewer Drains should be handled immediately by a Professional Plumber as the gasses from a Sewer problem can be deadly.

Video Pipe Inspection

Video Pipe Inspection

The Technology of Plumbing has evolved a lot from just 10 years ago and nothing has changed the Plumbing industry more than the use of small cameras to help see Drain Clogs, Frozen Pipes, and Damaged Sewer and Water Pipes.  A mini Fiberoptic camera is lowered into a Sewer Drain Pipe or Water Pipe and worked into position sending video and images back to the Plumber where he views them on a small screen or laptop.  This allows the Plumber to determine what caused the Pipe issue and the best course of action to take to fix it.  Video Pipe Inspection is required for all Water Jetting of Pipes as the Plumber has to ensure there is no damage to the pipe beforehand as Water Jetting can damage the Pipe even more.
